Fun, but it destroys my battery

Im an old school gamer, so I enjoy the gameplay. I cant play it for long, as it drains the battery rapidly. This morning, with CW as the only open app, I went from 20% battery to forced shutdown in 10 minutes: so fast that my iPhone 4s didnt even warn me I was at 5%.

This seems to be a known issue, as Auroch Digitals Web site says the games graphics and animations can be pretty demanding. They recommend quitting all other applications and playing either with a full battery or while plugged in. This is an unrealistic recommendation, and I dont think the games presentation warrants such excessive battery usage.
